My name is Murielle. For over a year, I’ve been helping people from all over the world break through the barrier of the French language. Not just to speak it, but to feel comfortable in it, both in their professional lives and in their everyday lives in Haute-Savoie.
I’m convinced that learning French doesn’t happen sitting at a desk. It happens while doing your shopping, cooking, sharing a coffee with neighbours, or strolling along the lake. That philosophy is at the heart of my method.
Alongside my work as a French-as-a-foreign-language (FLE) teacher in Annecy, I also manage the Atelier Giguet, an architecture firm, where I’ve gained an in-depth knowledge of the local area and its people.
Learn French through activities
Choose an activity, learn vocabulary on the spot, and leave with French knowledge you’ll actually remember. Each session takes place while practising everyday situations in Annecy and its surroundings.
Lakeside
A conversation session held along Lake Annecy. We work on everyday vocabulary, orientation and spontaneous exchanges, in a setting that encourages free speech.
The local market
An immersion in an Annecy market. A chance to name products, understand prices and quantities, and genuinely interact with vendors using common polite expressions.
Walk in nature
An easy walk in the Annecy area. The slow pace makes room for relaxed conversation around nature, seasons and the Savoyard landscape.
Doing the grocery
A supermarket session, from the aisles to the checkout. We decode labels, form questions and discover shopping vocabulary you can reuse as soon as you leave the store.
Cooking a recipe
We cook a regional dish together, reading the recipe, naming utensils, following the steps out loud. French comes through the hands as much as through words.
Tasting local products
Reblochon, tomme, Savoie charcuterie. We taste, compare and put words to what we feel, the vocabulary of taste, the one that’s always missing at the table.
Annecy's old town
A lesson in the historic centre. The canals, the arcades and the Palais de l’Isle serve as anchors to work on description, the past tense and city vocabulary.
Administrative vocabulary
lesson devoted to French bureaucratic procedures, préfecture, social security, bank, insurance: we decode form vocabulary and prepare the phrases to say.
Phone conversation
A lesson focused on phone calls, the exercise that’s most challenging when you can’t see the other person. Making an appointment, asking someone to repeat, spelling your name: we practise.
Classic lesson
The reference format. A face-to-face session, at your home or online, built around your goals and expectations.
Small group lesson
Two to four people at the same level. A format that multiplies exchanges and costs less per person, handy for a family or colleagues progressing together.

My method is based on a different approach to language learning: learning French through concrete, authentic and stimulating situations. Each lesson is tailor-made to meet your needs and gradually guide you toward greater ease and confidence. My goal is to create a supportive environment where everyone can dare to speak, express themselves freely and enjoy communicating.

Do I need to already speak some French ?
Not at all. I welcome both complete beginners (A1 level) and advanced learners (C1–C2). We start with a quick placement test to adapt the pace and content to your profile and goals.
Do you teach in person or online ?
Both. In-person lessons take place in Annecy, either at my home, at your place, or at the activity location (market, kitchen, outdoors, administrative offices). Online lessons are perfect for starting before you arrive in France, or as a supplement.
How long before I can hold a real conversation ?
Expect about few months to reach a conversational level (A2–B1) at 2 to 3 sessions per week. Full immersion speeds up progress considerably.
Are the lessons suitable for professional use ?
Yes. The content is fully personalised to your professional context: meetings, emails, presentations and industry-specific vocabulary. This approach is particularly suited to executives and professionals working in or with Switzerland.
What does the full-immersion stay include ?
